Kevin Ladesic

“At this point, in my artistic journey, I consider myself to be a studio painter and unless I’m doing a commission piece I primarily work from my own photos. Although I work (play) in multiple mediums, my passion has been watercolor. I find that it adapts to so many styles of painting The outdoor environment of Door County offers unlimited and ever-changing subject matter to photograph and paint. My goal with my artwork is to convey the sense of awe, wonder and peace that I feel when I experience the Creation around us.”

Kevin Ladesic was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1959, grew up in the Chicago suburbs, and currently resides in Sister Bay with his wife Pam. A multidisciplinary artist in painting, charcoal, and photography, he is best known for his representational landscape painting especially of Door County. His father and grandmother showed artistic talent, but he never pursued his art inclination until he began taking art classes at the College of Lake County (CLC) in 2015.

Inspired by Door County, artists such as Charles Peterson, Jack Andersen, Austin Frasier and Bridget Austin. He has pursued watercolor as his primary medium. In 2016, he was accepted into a master's degree program in medical illustration at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) but found that his true artistic passion to be drawing and painting nature and landscapes.
